Foundation Phase

Our Foundation Phase consists of two classes for each grade. Mrs Thompson is the Head of both the Foundation Phase and Junior School. We have one remedial teacher who assists learners with barriers. We offer English Home Language, Afrikaans 1st Additional Language, and we have Sesotho 2nd Additional Language in Grade 1.

The Foundation Phase learners can participate in a variety of sporting and cultural activities.

Below are the pass requirements in the Foundation Phase:

Grade R

  • Level 4 for Home Language
  • Level 3 for Mathematics 

Grade 1-3 

  • Level 4 for Home Language
  • Level 3 for First Additional Language
  • Level 3 for Mathematics

Foundation Phase Teachers

Our educators who work with children in Grades 1 to 3 focus on building fundamental skills like literacy, numeracy, and social interaction through a play based approach.

They are responsible for creating a nurturing learning environment, promoting a child’s holistic development, and collaborating with parents and other stakeholders to support young learners’ growth
