Important Information Before Starting the Application Process to St Michael's School for Girls, Bloemfontein

Applications are open from Grade 000 - 10 only

Admissions open: 1 April 2026 – 30 August 2026

Admissions will be from 1 April 2026 to 30 August 2026 yearly. If you have not heard back from the school after the 30th of September, you must accept that your application was unsuccessful.

To apply for the following grades in 2027, kindly note the year of birth on the right-hand side of the table.

The Language of learning and teaching at St Michael’s is English. The learner should therefore be able to communicate fluently in English.

The date of submission of the application form is not a criterion used for admission.

Before you begin the application process, please take note of the following essential requirements to ensure a smooth and successful submission:

  • If your application is successful, you will be notified via email.
  • A full non-refundable deposit of R6000 for school admission + R6000 for Hostel admission (where applicable) will be required to secure your daughter’s place at St Michael’s School.
    • Email Address Guidelines: Use a personal email address rather than a work email, as workplace servers and firewalls often block emails from the school.
    • Regularly check your Spam/Junk folder to ensure you receive important communication from the school.
    • If you find an email from the school in your Spam/Junk folder, move it to your Inbox. This will help prevent future emails from being automatically marked as spam.
  • Internet Connectivity:
    Ensure that you have a stable internet connection with sufficient data or Wi-Fi access. This will help you avoid interruptions during the application process, as you will not be able to pause and resume later.

Documents to be submitted:

  •  Mandatory documents taken with a cell phone will be rejected. 
  • Please scan all the compulsory documents and save it on your computer. It must be in a PDF format.
  • Save the documents using appropriate file names e.g. J Jones birth certificate.pdf / ID father.pdf / ID mother.pdf. etc.
    • It is crucial to have the DIGITAL forms ready before starting the application process. Please ensure that you submit clear copies (A4 size; clear readable copies; no blurred photos; ID copies also enlarged on the page)
  • ALL DOCUMENTS MUST BE OF CURRENT NATURE – NOT OLDER THAN 3 MONTHS
  • It is important to also upload all the requested documents for the person responsible for paying the school fees. Kindly scan in together with Parent Documentation.
  • When your application has been completed, you will receive a copy of the application in your email together with an Application Number. In no way is this an indication as to where your name is on the application / waiting list. It is only used as a reference.
  • Reminder: PARENTS OF LEARNERS CURRENTLY IN ST MICHAEL’S SCHOOL: If you currently have a daughter(s) in the school, please use the same email address already on our system.

  • Learner’s Birth Certificate (Unabridged)          
  • Learner’s Passport, Study Permit in the case of non-SA citizen            
  • Transfer certificate from previous / current school if available            
  • Reports (latest + previous year-end report)          
  • Copy of the latest St Michael’s school account, if applicable (applicable for sisters)
  • Copy of Clinic Card          
  • Medical Aid – front and back copy of card
             

PARENTS DOCUMENTS

  • ID document / Passport of biological father
  • ID document / Passport of biological mother
  • If owning the property: Municipality account (most recent, showing payments, not only proof of address)
  • If renting the property: Renting account (most recent, showing payments, not only proof of address)
  • Proof of employment of biological father
  • Father: recent payslip
  • Proof of employment of biological mother
  • Mother: recent payslip
  • Where the parents own their own business:
    • Business registration certificate & Tax clearance

GUARDIAN DOCUMENTS / PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING THE SCHOOL FEES IF NOT PARENTS

  • Court order of guardianship / Affidavit where a biological parent is not part of learner’s life
  • Proof of employment of guardian          
  • ID document of guardian
  • Municipality account (most recent, showing payments, not proof of address)
